A Nairobi woman’s story of hardship and resilience has drawn public attention after she was found in distress in the Central Business District with her two children, having been evicted from her home and left without any source of income.

According to Nairobi Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Mosiria, the woman had reached a breaking point when she was encountered by a Good Samaritan. At the time, she had no place to stay and was struggling to care for her children.

Her situation was further compounded by a tragic incident involving her daughter, who had allegedly been assaulted by relatives and was admitted in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of Kenyatta National Hospital.

Moved by her situation, the Good Samaritan reached out for help, prompting Mosiria and other well-wishers to intervene. A fundraising effort was launched, raising approximately KSh 250,000, which helped the woman secure housing and stabilize her family.

With the support, she was able to arrange assistance at home and ensure her other children returned to school. However, her daughter remains hospitalized at Kenyatta National Hospital, where she has been receiving treatment for the past nine months.

Mosiria has called on members of the public to continue supporting the family and keeping them in their thoughts as they navigate the ongoing medical and emotional challenges.

The case highlights the growing need for community support systems for vulnerable families facing economic hardship and domestic-related crises in urban areas.
