Alex Mwakideu Tells Ciggie Johnson to Ignore Online Noise After DNA Shock
Alex Mwakideu Has One Message for Ciggie Johnson After DNA Results

Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu has urged Ciggie Johnson not to let the online reaction to his DNA results determine his relationship with the 12-year-old girl he has raised since birth.
Ciggie recently said a DNA test excluded him as the girl’s biological father, setting off a heated debate online. Mwakideu’s message was simple: whatever happened between the adults, he should not take it out on the child.
Mwakideu addressed Ciggie directly in a video shared on social media, telling him to ignore the different opinions now flooding the internet.
He pointed to the 12-year relationship Ciggie has built with the girl, saying that bond cannot simply disappear because of a DNA result.
“Nothing can take that away. That is special.”
Mwakideu, who is also a father, said the situation between Ciggie and the girl’s mother should be treated separately from Ciggie’s relationship with the child.
He also argued that children should not carry the consequences of decisions made by adults.
“The mistakes of adults cannot be pinned on children.”
How Ciggie’s DNA story started
Ciggie, whose real name is Ciggie Okebiro, brought the issue into the public eye on October 3 after sharing a video of a phone conversation with the girl’s mother.
According to reports, the mother told him that a DNA report had excluded him as the biological father.
Ciggie said he had raised the girl for 12 years, believing she was his daughter. He also said he had supported her financially, including paying school fees and rent.
The revelation quickly spread online, with Kenyans debating whether biology should determine what happens next or whether Ciggie should continue playing the parental role he has had for most of the girl’s life.
There is one important caveat: the DNA report has not been independently verified by the laboratory that conducted the test, and the full report has not been publicly released.
Terence Creative also asked him not to walk away
Mwakideu is not the only public figure who has asked Ciggie to remain involved in the girl’s life.
Content creator Terence Creative also responded to the story, drawing from his own experience of being raised by foster parents.
Terence said that, in his view, DNA does not erase the relationship created through years of love and care.
He urged Ciggie not to abandon the girl, warning that walking away could affect her emotionally.

That position has not been universally accepted online.
Some Kenyans have argued that the child’s biological father should first be identified, while others say Ciggie should continue caring for the girl regardless of the DNA result.
Ciggie’s next step remains unclear
Ciggie has not publicly announced exactly what he plans to do about his relationship with the child or his financial responsibilities.
However, reports indicate that he wants the DNA report reviewed, meaning the matter may not be over yet.
For now, much of the conversation is happening online, with people who know little about the family’s private circumstances giving very different opinions about what Ciggie should do.
And that is exactly why Mwakideu’s message has focused on separating the adults’ dispute from the child.
Ciggie’s situation has opened a difficult conversation about paternity, fatherhood and what happens when biology and years of parenting suddenly point in different directions. But the child at the centre of the discussion is 12, so the family’s private situation deserves more care than the social media debate around it.
