Students at Litein Boys High School were told to report back on Tuesday — but just hours after reopening, the school was shut down indefinitely.
The closure came after tensions flared when boys discovered the principal had not been transferred, despite their earlier protests. Parents who escorted their children were left in shock, staring at destroyed classrooms and vandalized buildings.
“This is heartbreaking. We have form four candidates — where will they sit for exams?” one parent asked.
The unrest traces back to September 21, when students rioted after being denied the chance to watch the Arsenal vs Manchester City match. Videos later showed them cooking in teachers’ kitchens and seizing the school bus.
Authorities have now arrested 10 students, some caught on CCTV wielding knives and machetes.
For now, Litein Boys remains closed — indefinitely.
