He filmed a Prado ramming his car five times – The other driver says he was the one who started it

Police and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) are investigating after a video showing a white Toyota Prado repeatedly ramming a smaller taxi outside a Lavington entertainment spot went viral.

The two drivers involved have given conflicting accounts of what triggered the confrontation, and no arrests have been made four days on.

Two different stories, one video

Uber driver Yunis Ibrahim, who was behind the wheel of the taxi, told Citizen Digital’s report on the incident that he was dropping off a client near a mall when the Prado driver demanded he move, then kept ramming his car even after he tried to comply. “I turned into a corner, but he followed me. I tried to escape, yet he kept chasing and ramming my car,” he said.

The Prado driver tells it differently. He says Yunis’s taxi blocked his exit and refused to move because he was waiting for a client still inside a bar. He also alleges Yunis struck his headlight with a club during the standoff, a claim that security guards who witnessed the incident appear to support, saying Yunis grabbed a club after the Prado clipped his vehicle.

Where it stands now

Both men have filed police reports against each other: Yunis for hit-and-run, the Prado driver for malicious damage. Neither has been arrested, and police at Muthangari Police Station confirmed the case remains under investigation.

Yunis’s employer, Adam Ali, says the taxi has been off the road for three days and is demanding a replacement vehicle, calling the damage irreparable.

Video-first justice moves fast online, verdicts get delivered in the comments long before police finish their work. This one’s still open: two competing versions, a club, a rammed car, and no charges yet.
