Jubilee party vice chairperson David Murathe maintains that the ouster of nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura is a done deal. Murathe made the sentiments last night during an interview on KTN.

Following the decision by the Jubilee party to expel nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka on Tuesday this week declared his seat vacant.

Mwaura was expelled by the party for allegedly campaigning for a candidate of a different political outfit.

The embattled Senator moved to court after the decision.

High court judge justice Sergon J suspended the gazette notice by Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka that had declared his seat vacant.

The nominated Senator yesterday took to Twitter to hail the ruling.

“There is a GOD in heaven. Those who wait upon HIM, are never put to shame as I have been granted an injunction. I respect all Govt leaders, and I will maintain political decorum at all times. All praises to the almighty GOD.” He tweeted.

According to Murathe however, the order won’t change anything as it came late.

The party has already chosen former Samburu Senator Sammy Leshore to replace Mwaura.

Through a gazette notice dated 11 May, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said Mwaura’s name had been deleted from the list of members nominated to represent persons living with disabilities.
