Raila Odinga meets Benjamin Ayimba’s family

ODM party boss Raila Odinga has today visited the family of ailing former rugby sevens coach Benjamin Ayimba.

“I met the family of Kenyan Rugby legend Benjamin Ayimba who is currently hospitalized to offer prayers, encouragement, and extend support to them. You are in our prayers Benja.” Read the message shared on his social media platforms.

Benjamin Ayimba is reportedly in critical condition and is currently admitted in HDU and cannot recognize anyone or speak.

Ayimba, who led Kenya to the Singapore Sevens title in 2016 is suffering from Cerebral Malaria.

He has been in and out of hospital since 2020 after he was diagnosed with the condition.

His condition has deteriorated rapidly and he needs all our help more than ever before.

Friends and family are appealing to well-wishers to help contribute towards getting him the best medical treatment.

His current hospital bill stands at Ksh 2.5 Million.

Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja has already taken the initiative of fundraising for Ayimba both on social media platforms and in the political arena.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has already donated Ksh 1 million.

This was confirmed by senator Sakaja via a tweet.
