Francis Atwoli re-elected COTU boss unopposed

Francis Atwoli has been re-elected as COTU boss unopposed. The long serving COTU boss took to twitter to thank Kenyan workers for their gesture.

“I want to THANK ALL KENYAN WORKERS for RE-ELECTING me UNOPPOSED, through their registered Trade Union Representatives, as the Secretary General of
@COTU_K. I promise to service you with all my mighty and strength and not betray the trust you have bestowed in me.” He tweeted.

Atwoli has been at the helm of organization since 2001.

In his role as a representative of Kenyan workers, Atwoli has expressed criticism of politicians on issues such as their refusal to pay taxes on their allowances, and dabbling in corruption.

He has also been critical of non-governmental bodies and global institutions including the World Bank, interfering with labor disputes.
