He poked holes at the BBI process which he said was the number cause of the rise in the cases.

Pastor Ng’ang’a decried the decision to clamp down on other gatherings more so in churches adding that the political class were not being fair to other quarters.

He becomes the second religious leader to publicly condemn the stiffer measures recently announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta aimed at containing the surge.

PEFA church, Kahawa West Bishop Peter Ambuka last week accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of being behind the rise in Covid-19 infections.

President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered the cessation of all movement into and out of the capital Nairobi and four other counties following a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.

The other affected counties include Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru.

He suspended church gatherings in the affected counties too.

“Mr President, you and your fellow politicians are to blame for this devastating third wave, the buck stops with you.” He said.

He added that it was unfortunate as the measures put in place were only meant to make the hoi polloi suffer at the expense of the political class who continue living lavishly.

Kenya is grappling with a third wave of coronavirus infections with health facilities stretched to capacities as hospital admissions increase.
