Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange dies at Nairobi hospital

Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange has succumbed to COVID-19 related complications at Nairobi Hospital.

Until his death, the legislator served as National Assembly Security Committee chairperson.

Various leaders have taken to social media to mourn the MP.

“The cruel hand of death has robbed us of a steadfast leader. A leader and gentleman whose undivided focus was the peace, stability and progress of our country” President Uhuru Kenyatta said in his condolence message.

Deputy President William Ruto described the late Kiambaa Mp as a dependable, illustrious and visionary figure who worked for the people of Kiambaa Constituency with diligence.

“Honourable Paul Koinange was a dependable, illustrious and visionary figure who worked for the people of Kiambaa Constituency with diligence. He was a progressive and selfless politician whose exceptional servant leadership will be missed.” Read the tweet from Ruto.

ODM boss Raila said he had lost a friend and condoled with his friends, family at the people of Kiambaa at large.

“The people of Kiambaa have lost in Paul Koinange, a diligent and dependable leader whose undivided focus was the unity, stability and progress of the country. He served with distinction as the Chairperson of the
@NAssemblyKE’s Committee on Administration and National Security.” Odinga tweeted.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Hon. Moses Kuria said he had learnt of Koinange’s death with profound shock.

“I have received with shock the passing away of my colleague Hon Paul Koinange. Condolences to his family and the people of Kiambaa. May his soul rest in eternal peace” He tweeted.
