In a statement, Homeboyz said that the three were let go over gross misconduct and going against the companies editorial policies, over their insensitive remarks on a woman who was thrown off the 12th floor of a building by man after refusing his sexual advances.

“We have determined that their conduct constitutes gross misconduct and an egregious breach of the company’s editorial policies. The company and its subsidiaries do not condone gender-based violence or any form of physical, verbal and emotional abuse nor does it subscribe to the view shared by the three employees.” Read part of the circular as seen on social media sites.

Shaffie has now threatened to sue the media house accusing the management of terminating his contract without doing serious investigations over the matter.

“Further without basing your findings on any investigations whatsoever, and solely basing a purported decision on social media investigators jury, you concluded that our client was guilty of gross misconduct for purportedly making insensitive comments on the 24th March 2021.” Reads part of the letter from his lawyers to the media house.

The radio presenter wants a whooping Ksh 21 million from the company.
