Bobi Wine’s entire security detail withdrawn

NUP Presidential Candidate Bobi Wine’s entire security detail has been withdrawn a day to the country’s parliamentary and presidential election.

Bobi has made the revelation  via his Twitter handle.

The country’s social media was last night shut down in what President Museveni in his address to the nation termed as ‘stopping  foreign forces from trying to control Uganda.’

After 35 years in power, President Yoweri Museveni, 76, is being strongly challenged by music star Bobi Wine, who is 38 and draws much of his support from young people.

Bobi Wine’s security withdrawn a day to the polls.

Bobi Wine has been detained periodically, and dozens of opposition protesters have been killed.

A pop star-turned-politician, Bobi is seen by many as the new face of Uganda’s politics and viewed as a major threat to Museveni who has been in power since 1986.

Kyagulanyi who joined politics five years ago after being elected in a by-election in Kyadondo East constituency, has tremendously grown his support base across the landlocked East African nation.
