Alice Wahome-Uhuru supporting BBI to cling on power (watch)

Kandara MP Hon. Alice Wahome has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of supporting the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) with an aim of clinging on power post 2022.

Wahome made the sentiments this morning at a hotel in Malindi, Kilifi county.

Without going into details, the MP alleged a ploy by the president to retain some degree of control even after he vacates office.

The legislator further accused the head of state of killing devolution, other companies and militarizing the state ‘at the pleasure of the executive’.

Wahome accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of being a ‘mercenary for hire’ and the BBI report as the special-purpose vehicle heading to the route that has been suggested by Murathe and Atwoli.

The Kandara MP said if the Constitution is to be amended, then there should be a provision barring a president who has served his term from running for any office that has executive powers.

Various leaders including COTU boss Francis Atwoli have always called for quicker constitutional amendments so as to give President Uhuru Kenyatta more time to fulfill on his promises to Kenyans
