A man has committed suicide after sneaking back into a police station in Kenya.

According to a report published on the Daily Nation, Francis Njogu Kirogo, 38-years-old, was found hanging on a tree inside Karatina Police Station few hours after being released.

Francis had been arrested for violating the dusk to dawn curfew that was ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mathira East Deputy County Commissioner Patrick Meso confirmed the incident and disclosed that Francis was found hanging with a belt.

The Deputy county commissioner further disclosed that Francis had objected to be released and wanted to be locked up even longer.

“He was arrested by DCI officers and later released but he insisted that he wanted to be locked up. It is suspected he sneaked back, climbed the tree and hanged himself,” said the officer.

Since the covid-19 dawn to dusk curfew was instituted, a lot of Kenyans have complained of unbearable life.

“This curfew will probably force me to close down. I get to the shop from around 4 p.m. and close minutes after midnight. My assistant works during the day but almost 80% of the profit is generated in the evening. I am very worried,” stated a trader based in Uthiru, Nairobi.
