Uganda’s Electoral Commission goes for Bobi Wine’s neck

Uganda’s Electoral Commission has directed Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine to comply with election guidelines and respect Covid-19 standard operating procedures.

The commission accused Bobi wine of breaching the rules and thus putting the lives of citizens at risk of contracting the virus.

According to the commission, this was the reason behind what it termed as unwarranted confrontations with security personnel.

Early last month, Bobi Wine was arrested at Luka district for allegedly breaching the Covid-19 protocols.

His arrest was followed by demonstrations in the country that left several dead and scores injured.

Bobi on his side has accused the commission of favoring President Yoweri Museveni.
