EPRA board splits, appoints Daniel Kiptoo in an acting capacity pending Pavel Oimeke’s bribery investigations

Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) Board members differed on whether the director general Pavel Oimeke should resume work during the ongoing investigations.

The board appointed  Daniel Kiptoo to be the acting boss with recommendation from Energy CS Charles Keter to oversee all operations as they await the fate of Pavel Oimeke.

Daniel Bargoria was a legal adviser to the Ministry of Energy and State Department of Petroleum and is the chairman of the government’s first oil committee.

The board felt Pavel Oimeke should stay away from office to avoid tampering with investigations,other members feel that Mr. Oimeke should stay in office since he has not yet been charged in court.
