Radisson Blu Hotel in Upperhill closes down

Radisson Blu Hotel in Upperhill has been  closed due to low bookings which has left most of it’s staff jobless due to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Hotel which is the largest of the three in Nairobi with 271 rooms, mostly hosts conferences and parties and attracts business people who want to keep off the busy city center.

One of the spokes persons talked to the Business Daily on the matter.

“To mitigate some of the economic impact of the pandemic, coupled with the uncertainty of Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill’s reopening date, we have had to make the difficult decision to reduce the size of our workforce at the hotel,” said the spokesperson.

However the management in a statement promised to offer support to those affected, through out the whole process.

According to it’s website,the hotel might reopen in March next year, and gave its word that the laid off staff will get first priority in hiring once they re-open.

The other branches, Radisson Blue Hotel and residences Arboretum and Park inn by Radisson Blu remains open.
