KRA defies Covid-19 economic hurdle to surpass revenue collection target

Kenya Revenue Authority, KRA has defied the current economic hurdle brought about by Covid-19 pandemic to surpass its revenue collection target.

This is for the first three months of the financial year 2020-2021.

The achievement is according to National Treasury’s of actual revenues and net exchequer issues published.

The taxman collected Ksh 426.3 billion in taxes in a period ranging between July 1st and October 30th.

This was against the annual target of Ksh 1.56 trillion.

It has a quarterly target of Ksh 390 billion and this means it surpassed the first quarter target by Ksh 36 billion.
